Onto IUI#4: Currently CD7

Figured it was time to update my blog.

I went to see my RE on Friday last week to do an ultrasound and have a little chit-chat. The ultrasound was perfect ... lining was at 5.88mm and I didn't have any cysts OR residual follicles (which is a HUGE bonus). We discussed our 3 failed attempts and 8 months of non-stop failures. I told her that I really liked the Follistim and that it was easier to inject. She agreed that we should try the Follistim again except double the dose this time. So here's this months protocol:

Femara 5mg CD3-CD7 (5 days straight)
Follistim 150iu's injected CD5, CD7, CD9
Ovidrel 250mg injected CD10 or CD11
Then IUI & Progesterone

Today I took my last 2 pills (thank goodness because I don't think I could do another day). My 2nd to last Follistim injection will be tonight at 7pm. This Friday I go in for a follicle ultrasound, this one will tell me HOW MANY follicles we got and WHEN my IUI will be.

We also discussed that if the next 2 IUI's don't work we will be moving onto IVF. As most of you know IVF is extremely expensive so we are REALLY hoping it doesn't go that far. Not that IUI's are cheap, but they are affordable (about $1500-$2000 per IUI cycle).

I will update on Friday with the outcome!!! Oh my goodness, I hope there are at least 2 follicles in each ovary!!! Please, please, please!!!!
